January - February

Well here we are the start of another year, let hope 2012 is a good one. First off this month is another reminder to that memberships are due, if you haven't paid then you need to before the end of the month, otherwise you will incur the excess charge of £5. So don't delay send the form back now.

Second item this month is, there is a quiz, it's on the 28th, Joan is the quiz master, come along and test your general knowledge. Again there will be big cash prizes, as long as you win and invest the winnings on the right lottery ticket. There is not going to be an event in January but watch out for the 18th of February because it might be an evening to remember.

The last piece of club news this month is that Gary no longer wants to run the film night, we thank him for his efforts in running the film club over the last couple of years. At the moment the film club will be held in suspension with a revised format later in the year. As you all know it's getting close to time for the AGM, due to working commitments of a number of the committee the AGM will be held on the 10th of March. If you have any points you wish added to the agenda please let me know. The next committee meeting will be on the 20th February, so I need the items before then. If there is anyone would would like to join us on the committee then please come forward and sign up.

Lastly I have been contacted to help spread the word about village items, there currently is no daily newspaper delivery to the village, if enough people are interested, then it will be possible to arrange a delivery service at reasonable cost. Please get in touch if you are interested.

The second item is broadband, have you registered at www.onlincolnshire.org, go to the web site and register your interest, we might get decent broadband in Burton if enough people register. Don't delay register now.
